Program Planner & Connector for the Israeli Community

JCC Greater Boston seeks a dynamic, caring individual to build relationships with individuals and families displaced by the war in Israel and create partnerships and pathways to resources at the JCC and within the broader community. During this acute time of crisis, the JCC and other organizations in the area are opening their doors to support displaced and impacted individuals and families from Israel. As Israelis are looking for community and resources for their stay – which can range from weeks to months, JCC Greater Boston has a part-time, limited duration role for a unique person to support this community. If you are someone who is a natural community builder, who is warm, highly organized, and a great team player with a strong connection to the Jewish and Israeli community in Greater Boston, then this role may be for you! Fluency in both English and Hebrew is essential. This is a part-time, 15-hour-per-week, grant funded position for approximately six months.

The starting salary for this position is $23.05 - $25.50 an hour. The salary offered will ultimately be determined by the scope of the position, the candidate’s relevant experience, and internal equity. This role is part of the Family Engagement & Jewish Life (FEJL) Department, whose goals are to build relationships and create a community for families with young children seeking some Jewish connection. The department relies on grants and donor support. The number of hours per week for this position may fluctuate according to grant funding. 

Requirements

Outreach by fostering relationships and networking with displaced individuals and their families through one-on-one discussions, facilitating friendships, and community-building events. Activities with include occasional weekend and/or evening duties. Responsibilities include:

• Identify and welcome new families/individuals to the JCC Greater Boston community
• Clarify families’/individuals’ needs for financial support to engage with programming. Provide pathways for financial assistance, as needed. 

• Plan and facilitate activities as needed/requested by participants (e.g. playgroups for families with young children). Partner with other JCC Program Leads to connect and/or offer new programs specifically for Israelis. 
• Host and manage monthly Shabbat dinners for the JCC community with a focus on Israeli families/individuals and plan and implement other programs and activities of interest as needed 
• Partner with membership and Program Leads to onboard individuals and families to the JCC and Leventhal-Sidman JCC building and its resources and link families to other JCC programming and the Jewish/Israeli community at large 
• Build relationships with area organizations such as day schools, IAC, CJP, and others in order to facilitate connections to the community and partner with marketing to promote programs through social media, social groups, parent connections, community events, local business relationships, and other relevant channels 
• Ensure compliance with JCCGB processes and deadlines. Submit expenses. Maintain accurate records and attendance sheets.  
• Meet regularly with supervisor and be an active participant in departmental meetings and trainings 
• Work in partnership with JCC Leadership and other departments to support JCC Greater Boston organizational goals and model JCC values

QUALIFICATIONS 

• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and 1-3 years experience working in a public-facing role supporting community activities.
• Must be Bi-lingual in English and Hebrew. 
• Must show strong knowledge of and connections to the local Israeli community. 
• Has Knowledge of and connections to the local Israeli community 
• Has Superb communication (interpersonal and social media), time management and organizational skills 
• Has Fluency with local Israeli social media and online communication outlets 
• Has proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and the internet 
• Has a strong attention to detail, able to meet deadlines and follow up in a timely fashion 
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as be part of a team 
• Able to represent the JCC in a professional manner at all times
