GCG Automation & Factory Solutions is currently seeking an Automaton Product Manager with a solid industrial automation technical base of experience and knowledge along with a strategic business development mindset to champion the growth of our industrial automation product lines such as Siemens, Turck, and Festo.
As our Automation Product Manager, you will work closely with the Automation and Factory Solutions sales and marketing teams to develop and execute a go-to-market strategy that drives market share growth and the achievement of our aggressive annual growth objectives.
This role offers a remote work arrangement when not engaged in work related travel however we would prefer candidates that are located within a reasonable driving distance of one of our office locations. Those locations include:
- Miamisburg, OH
- Rochester Hills, MI
- Cranberry Township, PA
- Germantown, WI
- St Louis, MO
What you’ll do
- Go-To-Market Strategy: Utilize strategic planning techniques such as SWOT to identify growth opportunities, analyze competition and develop sales and marketing campaigns to drive sales growth and market share gain
- Product Evangelist: Provide technical expertise and market knowledge to support the sales team in effectively positioning solutions and presenting the optimal solution for the customer; act as the product evangelist to build excitement and confidence and mindshare across the sales team by providing relevant and accurate product knowledge and competitive insights
- Trusted Advisor: Working through the sales team develop and strengthen relationships with key customers by becoming their trusted advisor; engage proactively to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions that drive long-term customer success
- Sales & Marketing Support: Collaborate with the sales team to support the development and execution of winning sales strategies. Drive initiatives such as product promotions, customer education, and solution-based selling
- Sales Performance Analysis: Leverage tools such as Salesforce CRM to analyze KPIs such as sales performance against plan and pipeline health and development; make course corrections based on the analytics provided by working across the organization
- Industry Representation: Represent GCG at trade shows, industry events, and customer presentations. Actively showcase product innovation and present technical and commercial advantages of GCG’s industrial automation solutions
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with supply chain, and operations to ensure that product availability and delivery meet customer expectations. Lead initiatives to optimize inventory, reduce lead times, and enhance the overall customer experience
- Mentorship & Development: Mentor and support sales and technical teams on product applications and industry trends; develop and facilitate training materials to improve the technical competence and sales effectiveness of the team
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and competitor offerings; use this knowledge to continuously refine GCG’s industrial automation and product positioning
What you’ll bring
- Minimum of 7+ years of technical experience working with industrial automation solutions such as PLC & I/O, HMI, drives, motion control, and industrial networks/fieldbuses; business development and / or product management experience considered a requirement
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and lead initiatives without direct authority
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop creative solutions tailored to customer needs
- Experience using CRM systems and analytics to manage sales activities, analyze trends, and drive data-informed decisions
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field/function is preferred
- Willingness to travel 50% within the Midwest region
