We are seeking highly-motivated Business Analysts to perform quantitative and qualitative analyses on problems of importance to U.S. national security. These problems include, for example, assessing risk within the Defense Industrial Base, isolating inefficiencies in business operations, and quantifying how investments drive performance outcomes and align with strategic aims. Business Analysts are responsible for conducting business research and case studies, performing quantitative analysis on business performance, and communicating data-driven insights to internal and external stakeholders. Business Analysts will work alongside Data analysts to solve client problems by appropriately structuring analysis in order to provide actionable data-driven solutions.
In order to do this job well, you must be analytical, curious, and driven to make an impact. Business Analysts at Govini have a firm understanding of how to use data to solve complex problems related to national security acquisition, innovation, and supply chain risk assessments. You have a business mindset and understand defense acquisition processes and the importance of effective and efficient program management. You have a professional acumen that allows you to lead conversations with top DoD and government agency officials. You know how to structure analysis to answer hard problems, and you know how to engage in constructive dialogue to find the best path forward.
This is a full-time team member position, working in the office at our Arlington, VA location.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Work with national security professionals to understand and answer their critical business questions
  • Conduct research on various market trends, business performance, and issues related to key defense programs
  • Assist in translating qualitative and quantitative analysis to objective and accurate views of business operations, producing valuable insights for customers and recommendations to improve performance
  • Present data-driven findings in a concise and compelling manner to internal teams
  • Subject matter expertise in key knowledge areas such as public domain research, Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM), industrial base, manufacturing, & production areas, technology scouting and technology application, defense acquisitions and program management, government procurement, supplier assurance, federal contracting, and/or Planning, Programming, Budget, and Execution (PPBE)

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required

  • Required Skills:
  • Bachelor  in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Economics, or similar fields, or 1-2 years of equivalent experience
  • Strong business acumen, excellent professional demeanor with a willingness to work outside of your comfort zone in a fast-paced environment without hesitation
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct relevant business case studies and market analysis using internal and open-source data sources 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, experience presenting to non-technical stakeholders and extracting the ‘so-what’ from the data
  • Referenceable history of exceptional performance in conducting high-quality analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple work-streams and projects, learn quickly, and work independently with little supervision

  • Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of defense acquisition life cycle and program management, technology scouting, and supply chain risk management
  • Eligibility and willingness to obtain a U.S. security clearanceFamiliarity with Excel or SQL
