Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong understanding of state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and policies related to accounting and fiscal management budget development and maintenance and the state legislative and budget process.
• Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities in analyzing data, setting short- and long-term financial goals and problem-solving and decision-making.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Leadership and supervisory experience in planning, directing, managing staff, setting performance standards, evaluating performance, and ensuring training and development

Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university, plus 4 years of accounting experience.
Satisfaction of the minimum qualifications, including years of experience and service, does not entitle employees to automatic progression within the job series. Promotion to the next classification level is at the discretion of the department and the Office of Personnel Management, taking into consideration the employee’s demonstrated skills, competencies, performance, workload responsibilities, and organizational needs.
