Job Description:

The Accounts Payable Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end accounts payable cycle, including timely invoice processing & vendor payment, balance sheet reconciliation, and internal reporting of metrics. This role will also oversee the accounts payable staff, providing mentorship, training, and timely performance feedback. Additionally, the person in this role will work cross-functionally with procurement, contracts, and project teams to align processes & ensure timely and accurate invoice payments.

The successful candidate will demonstrate prior experience improving AP processes & AP team performance as well as experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud or a similar Tier 1 ERP system (Peoplesoft, Oracle EBS, SAP).

Responsibilities:

    Manage the end to end AP process including:

o      Ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing, with requirement to process invoices as needed

o       Manage, mentor and develop a team of AP specialists

o        Manage cross functional collaboration relating to Accounts Payable. Resolve issues that affect multiple departments

o         Identify and document root causes of payment delays & payment errors, implement corrective actions, monitor and report results

o      Maintain positive relationships with vendors

o       Develop and maintain KPIs and dashboards to efficiently monitor the AP process & provide AP reports to department & project leaders as needed

o          Assists with internal & external audits as the primary AP point of contact and ensures compliance with SOX and other internal controls

o          Driving system enhancements and implementation of technology tools including but not limited to the Oracle ERP system and AP automation tools

 

    General ledger accounting tasks including but not limited to:

o Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations

o          Review of balance sheet results during month-end close. Determining & proposing any needed adjustments in accordance with GAAP.

    Able to identify unallowable costs according to government rules and/or contractual terms

    Ability to implement policies and procedures to help improve efficiencies

    Complies with internal control procedures on a day to day basis.

    Ability to perform moderately complex accounting tasks/analysis, categorize data for reporting and audit purposes
