Job Summary:
The Section of Pediatric Palliative Medicine was founded in 2022 and boasts a rapidly growing clinical program, with inpatient and outpatient services at a large academic health system, in the freestanding Children’s Hospital Colorado. Consistently, University of Colorado Dept of Pediatrics has been ranked a top 10 academic program in the country, and Children’s Hospital Colorado as a USNWR Top 10 children’s hospital in the country. Within this esteemed system, the section prides itself on passion, innovation, and a flexible growth mindset with aspirational visions of being a top palliative medicine program in the country and is looking for creative leaders in the field to join this incredible team.
Alongside the clinical mission, the section of Pediatric Palliative Medicine is growing our education program, including a pediatric track fellowship program, and an established VitalTalk program, with ample ongoing opportunities to participate in clinical research, QI and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct comprehensive, focused assessment of children and families with palliative care needs.
· Formulate, implement, monitor, evaluate, and modify palliative care plans and program activities with input from palliative care team and other collaborating care providers.
· Engage in quality improvement in patent care services and department functions, including evaluating the effectives of the health care delivery system in meeting the health care needs of pediatric palliative care patients and families.
· Collaboration on system-wide education initiatives within the scope of palliative medicine.
· Participate in pediatric palliative care research, including quality and performance improvement initiatives.
· Demonstrate accountability for evaluations of clinical practice, including adherence to organizations, state and national practice standards and codes.
· Attendance and participation in staff meetings is required.·
Work Location:
Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.
