The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), located in coastal Charleston, SC, seeks an exceptional pediatric infectious diseases physician to join a dedicated and talented group of physicians. The Division of Infectious Diseases resides within a highly collaborative and academically diverse Department of Pediatrics and also enjoys a close working relationship with the Infectious Diseases Division in the Department of Internal Medicine. A successful candidate will contribute to the operation and expansion of the division with shared coverage of the inpatient and outpatient clinical services and partnership in our clinical, teaching and quality improvement missions. Job Description

The Division of Infectious Diseases resides within a highly collaborative and academically diverse Department of Pediatrics and also enjoys a close working relationship with the Infectious Diseases Division in the Department of Internal Medicine. Ideal Candidates:
- BC or BE pediatric infectious disease physician
- Strong clinical skills, desire to build collaborations across divisions, and commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based medicine in teaching and practice
- Candidates with expertise/interest in solid organ and/or hematopoietic cell transplant medicine and the immunocompromised host are encouraged
- Candidates seeking a combined position in pediatric and adult infectious disease will be considered
Opportunity Details:
- Dedicated Children’s ambulatory campus and hospital, with multi-disciplinary pediatric subspecialties, surgery centers, laboratories, pharmacies, infusion suites and radiology
- Expansion of ID division with coverage of inpatient and outpatient clinical services

In 2020, MUSC Children’s Health opened the Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion, a 100,000 square foot, 250-bed, state-of-the-art building that is transforming the delivery of fetal, women’s and children’s care in the region. Supporting the outstanding clinical care at our Children’s Hospital and Women’s Pavilion is the Charles P. Darby Children’s Research Institute, the largest pediatric research facility in the Carolinas, and one of only 15 like it in the country.
