About the role
We are looking for an outstanding compensation professional to join us as our founding Compensation / Total Rewards member of the team, reporting into the Senior Director, Head of People. In this role, you will play a crucial role in evolving and executing our compensation strategy to support Genesis Therapeutics’ growth and success. You will work closely with senior leadership to develop and drive total rewards programs that attract, reward, retain, and motivate key talent populations.
Our team has created the industry's most advanced molecular AI platform called GEMS (Genesis Exploration of Molecular Space), to accelerate and optimize small molecule drug discovery and to enable the discovery of novel first-in-class and best-in-class small molecule drugs for challenging and/or undruggable targets.
The company has leveraged GEMS to build an internal pipeline with multiple programs against high-value targets, including data-poor and canonically undruggable targets where GEMS is uniquely advantaged. In addition, Genesis has signed AI-focused platform collaborations with major pharmaceutical companies, including most recently Incyte Corporation (Feb 2025) and Gilead Sciences (Sept 2024).

In this role you will:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive total compensation strategy aligned with the company's objectives and values, ensuring that it supports our scale and growth plans
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of competitive compensation programs, including base pay, equity incentives, and executive compensation
- Utilize data analytics and benchmarking to make informed decisions about compensation and benefits, regularly reviewing and adjusting programs to remain competitive
- Provide thought leadership, and consultation to senior leaders on the development of total rewards methodologies and philosophy, including supporting policies, practices, systems and external partners
- Supporting Compensation Committee Content: Provides analysis and creates presentation of data to be shared with the Board Compensation Committee, including relevant data analysis and recommendations
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, legal requirements, and market dynamics to ensure compliance and relevance of compensation programs
- Ensure that all compensation and benefits programs comply with relevant laws and regulations, and maintain strong governance practices
- Partner with finance, people operations, recruitment teams, and executives on pay decisions, compensation process & policies, retention strategies, and job evaluation
- Develop communication strategies to educate both new and existing employees about their compensation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field is required; Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CCP, GRP) preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in compensation, with a track record of success in scaling organizations
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment that will require you to manage competing priorities, pivot quickly and often, and continually build new processes as the company scales, preferably in an AI Start-up environment
- Strong understanding of compensation practices, regulations, and market trends
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership and employees
- Exceptional presentation skills, ability to create and present complex data visually in a clear, concise manner across a variety of audiences
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and time management skills
