TITLE:                    Building Maintenance Carpenter

LOCATION:           Snowbird Resort

STATUS:                Hourly, Full-time, Year-round

  • Pay depends on experience

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Repairs damages in Snowbird buildings and fixtures (i.e. hangs drywall, patches, paints walls, repairs concrete walls, floors, and drop ceilings, builds and refinishes cabinets, repairs counters etc.).
  • Performs in-house construction, including concrete and tile work, carpentry framing and building cabinets and signs.  
  • Determines needed parts, orders parts, and prepares requisitions. Research pricing information in catalogue, prepares requisition and delivers to supervisor. Checks in parts with purchasing to verify it is the correct part ordered.
  • Maintains inventory of replaced parts. Counts inventory and orders necessary material.
  • Cleans tools and shop at the end of the shift.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Travel: May need to drive to Salt Lake to pick up parts.

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean motor vehicle record.
  • At least 5 years of carpentry experience, including framing and drywall repair.
  • At least 5 years of construction management experience, including seeing projects through to completion.
  • Ability to show great communication between internal departments, outside trades, suppliers and building officials.
  • Ability to manage communications with architects, engineers, and building officials.
  • Must be able to clearly coordinate project schedule and impact with the involved operational departments.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Full-time, year-round position.
  • Occasional overtime as needed.
  • Some night shifts, weekends, holidays as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Guest contact may occur frequently.
  • Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management, and other departments.
  • Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp, and form repetitive motions.
  • Work is outdoors and requires constant exposure to cold, heat, and other extreme weather conditions. Frequent exposure to noise.
  • Work requires moderate periods of standing, walking, and moving on uneven and variable snow-covered and icy terrain.
  • Work is subject to frequent interruptions, making continuity and accuracy difficult.
  • Travel: May need to drive to Salt Lake valley to pick up parts for emergencies.
