Senior Government Physician Healthcare Consultant

Senior Government Physician Healthcare Consultant

We will count on you to:

• Participate on multiple project teams as a medical/clinical subject matter expert in acute, chronic, and long-term services healthcare. Projects are diverse and include strategic planning; program design; procurement; performance based contracting; readiness and post implementation reviews; managed care reporting, monitoring and performance management; briefing documents; focused studies; and clinical support for actuarial analyses.
• Participate and/or lead design and strategy development initiatives focused on public sector healthcare programs,, including adoption and incorporation of innovative best practices and emerging value-based, managed care models.
• Serve as a strategic advisor, coach, trainer, and mentor to clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
• Develop and present reports on project results to clients, managed care entities and other related stakeholders.
• Engage with clinical and policy leaders at the client and form a trusted advisor relationship.
• Work with client executives to develop future client growth strategies around the triple aim
• Develop and present in public forums, including conference settings, webinars, etc.
• Coordinate with clients, client managers, and sector leaders to support business growth, development, and strong client relationships, inclusive of defining the proposal strategy, leading the proposal process, drafting technical and financial proposals, conducting sales presentations, and identifying opportunities for expanded revenue with existing clients.
• Stay current on healthcare market trends and the regulatory environment; consider the implication of new trends or changes in policies or regulations on clients’ programs.
• Stay current on clinical best practices across acute, chronic, and long-term services healthcare.
• Develop intellectual capital; lead or participate in the development of tools or processes that can be leveraged for multiple clients.

What you need to have: 

• Active, unrestricted medical license (board-certification preferred)  
• Extensive physician executive level experience with healthcare management
• Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with network and/or delivery system transformation initiatives grounded in social determinants of health and/or value based payment arrangements (i.e., ACOs, Bundled Payments)
• Medicaid program knowledge and experience working with vulnerable populations
• Familiar with change management principles and ability to catalyze and implement change
• Ability to manage, motivate, and mentor more junior level staff
• Excellent critical thinking, strategic planning and analytical problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytic skills
