Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) seeks an Associate Director, Clinical Training. This job reports to the Director of Abortion Training and Resources at PPFA. This role is on a team that focuses on the development of an overarching strategy related to current and future threats to abortion, increasing access to abortion, best practices in abortion service delivery and patient-centered care, and the development of cutting-edge clinical standards and guidance for SRH care.
Purpose:
Planned Parenthood Federation of America seeks a highly motivated, self-directed individual to support the delivery of high-quality, equitable abortion services. The Associate Director, Clinical Training will develop and deliver new - and integrate pre-existing - tools and training resources under the guidance of the Director, Abortion Training and Resources to create and maintain a standardized, cohesive, and accessible suite of resources that support staff onboarding, training, and resilience in the areas of clinical abortion service delivery and equity, and patient and staff experience. They will provide training in the areas of abortion service delivery, customer service, and the integration of drivers of equity into abortion delivery systems. They will also expand training to other SRH service delivery topics (such as contraceptive care).
Delivery: ●Assess current abortion and SRH-related training assets and identify gaps, particularly as related to equity, staff support (including trauma-informed care and workplace, and self-compassion practice), and values clarification content, utilizing this information to set strategic goals for training programming and identifying new opportunities. ●Support the development of comprehensive training programming that is easily accessed and modifiable by service delivery teams, inclusive of clinical care (ultrasound, rh testing, lab work, etc.), patient experience, and equity content that is necessary for the provision of high-quality, equitable SRH care, with the goal of assisting health centers in onboarding and retaining talented staff.●Deliver clinical training, both remotely and in person.●Supervise and develop ultrasound trainers and ensure they are disseminating standardized best practices related to ultrasound. ●In collaboration with the Director, strategize to ensure effective dissemination and utilization of training programs, building a response and improvement mechanism in the case barriers arise to the use of programs or necessary updates to program contents and/or in response to evaluations and KPIs.
Engagement:
Collaborate extensively with health care delivery teams and training programs across teams and divisions at PPFA, and with abortion ecosystem partners (such as RAD, NAF, ACN) to ensure that PPFA abortion and SRH training and resources become and remain equitable, patient-centered, trauma-informed, cutting-edge, and ensure maximum access during what is likely to a very challenging era in abortion care work. Advocate for the primacy of putting the needs of patients at the center of the work and for ensuring that staff have the tools that they need to take excellent care of patients in challenging times.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
●5+ years experience in the areas of SRH care and training with an emphasis on abortion care●Expertise in the provision of ultrasound for sexual and reproductive health care●Excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of emotional intelligence●Ability to build strong and effective partnerships with both internal and external collaborators and customers.
