Medical Billing Analyst (hybrid) 

The Medical Billing Analyst is a member of the team that provides Medical Billing services to Enliven Health customers. This entry level customer facing position provides Tier 1 phone and email support and is expected to develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the Enliven Health Medical Billing application and the required knowledge necessary to successful assist clients with Medical Billing claims submissions.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize diagnostic procedures to assist customers in the identification of errors, problems, and inaccuracies in claim documentation and provide appropriate recommendations or escalate issue to Medical Billing Lead Analyst.
  • Help customers understand Medical Billing policies (Medicare, state Medicaid and 3rd party insurance) and related terminology.
  • Utilize webinars to education and train customers on basic Medical Billing application.
  • Assist customers with troubleshooting related to Enliven Health supported software or claim processing via phone or desktop sharing software.
  • Log all customer communication within the call tracking system.
  • Document and escalate technical issues to management.
  • Manage difficult or emotional customer situations; respond promptly to customer or team needs.
  • Coach customers on best practices (technical and business process).
  • Maintain a good knowledge of Medical Billing product, policies and industry changes.
  • Learn product updates and enhancements when deployed.
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA guidelines for corporate and customer information.
  • Promote and adhere to Omnicell’s mission, core values and vision.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance in accordance with policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to learn, understand and communicate Medical Billing policies (Medicare, Medicaid, and 3rd party insurance) and related terminology.
  • Ability to skillfully gather and analyze information, strong analytical skills.
  • Strong basic mathematical skills including the ability to perform mathematical conversions.
  • Effectively and calmly handle high in-bound call volume and stressful situations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in general office automation including operation of Sfax application, copy machines and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) phone systems.
  • Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures.
  • Minimum typing speed of thirty-five (35) words per minute and ten-key by touch.
  • Ability to establish/maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and customers.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills and strong written communication skills.
  • Self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Capable of identifying and completing tasks independently and with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent organizational skills including prioritization and planning of work activities and effective use of time.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • One to two years’ experience in either customer service, product support or professional work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct work experience in a DME/Medical Billing, insurance, or pharmacy related industry a plus.
  • In-bound phone/email customer support experience a plus.
