Job Description:
The Health Policy Client Service Assistant (CSA) will work with all members of the McDermottPlus team to support the development of policy insights, identification of policy alternatives, analyze and frame issues and challenges and advance business solutions for clients. Key duties of the CSA include, but are not limited to:
- Support tracking and analyzing key federal and state health care legislative initiatives and policy developments
- Cover, attend, and report on Congressional hearings, MedPAC, MACPAC, and policy stakeholder meetings
- Develop fact sheets, testimony, infographics, and other materials for clients and public distribution
- Conduct Medicaid waiver research
- Provide timely updates and turnarounds of breaking legislation and pressing issues
- Conduct legislative research and bill analysis
- Assist in the collection of relevant health care data
- Learn about the health care policy process in Washington and how policy reforms impacts the health care market
Job Requirements:
Candidates must be at least a college senior – graduate MPH, MPP or JD students strongly preferred. All candidates must have an interest in health policy. Candidates should be able to dedicate at least 24 hours per week for the duration of the internship.
Strong written and oral communications skills are imperative. Candidates should have initiative, be highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines, and attentive to detail.

Target Hiring Range $20/hr - $25/hr

Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that MWE provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work. Full time positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
