We are seeking a senior manager for our content and creative services team, which sits within Zillow’s best-in-class communications team. In this role, you’ll develop and execute content strategies that align with business objectives and target audience needs. This role supports the broader communications team by strategizing, developing, editing, and optimizing content daily. You will lead a small team reporting to Zillow’s Sr. Director of Communications with a direct line to Zillow’s Vice President of Communications.
This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $139,800.00 - $223,200.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.Who you are
Responsibilities:
Manage the content and design strategy for Zillow’s corporate website, Zillowgroup.com
Lead a small creative team to produce blog posts, scripts, videos, newsletters, multimedia content and other special projects for internal and external audiences.
Write for a variety of channels and audiences including executive bylines, video scripts, and op-eds.
Develop and implement a comprehensive, human-focused storytelling strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and brand.
Work with comms partners and internal teams to source stories that will enhance Zillow’s corporate and brand reputation among key audiences for internal and external earned and owned channels.
Proofread and edit content to ensure clarity, grammar accuracy, and brand voice consistency.
Schedule and maintain a content calendar to ensure timely publication
Monitor website traffic, performance, and user engagement using tools like Google Analytics, and report on metrics regularly.
Manage a small production budget as part of the overall communications budget.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends in content strategy and social media.
Provide feedback and coaching to other content creators within the team
Will work cross-functionally with other content hubs to collaborate and develop cohesive content strategy
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and minimum 8-10 years of professional experience in communications
Managing corporate websites/blogs (at least 2 years preferred).
Using CMS platforms like WordPress to publish and update content; overseeing CMS platform improvements
Proficiency in using Google Analytics and/or other web traffic analysis tools
Managing a team of producers, editors, social, graphic designers, and vendors.
Demonstrating ROI of content / communicating impact to leadership
Skills:
Excellent content creation, writing and editing skills focused on engaging storytelling. Able to write various content, including blog posts and bylines, op-eds for executives and subject matter experts.
Strong project management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
Good understanding of web design principles and user experience (UX).
