About the role
Job Description:
The Sr. Application Managed Services Advisor is responsible for assisting clients in meeting their organizational goals and objectives at an application level. This role serves as a strategic advisor, consulting clients on best practices for NextGen software applications solutions, workflows, and industry standards. Provides consulting and support for process improvement, business/clinical transformation efforts, and other initiatives to NextGen clients.- Implement strategic goals established by functional leadership and provides measurable input into new products, processes, standards, and / or business plans that will have some impact on the achievement of overall function results; establishes business plans for discipline with short-to mid-term impact on results (e.g.,1 to 3 years) and provides meaningful data and situational analysis of variable factors.
- Collaborate with teams to develop strategy for client specific roadmap for new hire training, product optimizations, new product implementation, software upgrades, and change management.
- Develop client deliverables as documented in contract scope of work (i.e., project plan, current state assessment, readiness assessment, rollout roadmaps, final reports, etc.)
- Assess current system workflows and configurations; identify opportunities for alignment with NextGen best practices and model build system.
- Develop departmental implementation tools and artifacts; scope and perform custom template and software programming utilizing software development best practices.
- Implement new software and upgrade the NextGen application suite; deliver application-level support and expertise to clients during active implementation by conducting system configurations, testing, training, go live support, and post implementation issue resolution.
- Provide closed loop feedback between implementations, support, and R&D.
- Provide consultative advice, recommendations, solutions and suggestions for best practice processes, workflows and use of product functionality based on expertise utilizing software and real-world experience.
- Prepare, lead and execute presentations, training, and work sessions with a strong command of the audience both internally and externally.
- Work with NextGen team members and client stakeholders in the pre-sale discovery phase to help identify client objectives and associated scope for consulting services, determine proposed scope of consulting engagements. Support sales and marketing teams with product demonstrations, educational/informational sessions, and other client or public outreach efforts.
- Identify and socialize emerging issues at a leadership level. Assist in developing process improvements across the organization and develop new product release roll out for applications team.
- Serve as a change champion by actively promoting and facilitating the adoption of new initiatives and processes among your peers and applying your experience and product/solution knowledge to provide support, training, and/or guidance.
- Serve as internal contact for emerging issues and collaborate with necessary stakeholders / leaders to remove roadblocks.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to new hires and less tenured members of the team.
- 25%-50% travel may be required, depending on client requirements and business needs.
- Flexible hours including weekend work may be required with advance notice.
- Perform other duties that support the overall objective of the position.
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.
Experience Required:
- 10+ years’ experience in relevant discipline such as: implementation and training, consulting, health care/private practice, or healthcare IT providing similar services/products.
License/Certification Required:
- NextGen Certified Professional within 90 days of onboarding. Established NextGen Certified Professional is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of: Proficient in NextGen's software applications, workflows, system configuration, client training, and troubleshooting resolution best practices. Aptitude for assessing information critically, recognizing trends and able to recommend ideas for improvement and process innovation. Comprehensive understanding of the forces shaping healthcare delivery including but not limited to the HITECH and MACRA legislation and related programs and regulations.
