Description:
The Soderling Lab at Duke University is seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher with expertise in neuronal phospho-proteomics. Our lab focuses on addressing critical questions in neurobiology, particularly in the areas of neurobiology of disease and neuronal “omics.” This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic research environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities and a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct cutting-edge research on neuroscience questions related to the funding and interests of the Soderling Lab. This includes utilizing a wide range of methods such as proteomics, single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNAseq), mouse genetics, genome engineering, electrophysiology, behavioral analysis, and imaging.
- Stay abreast of new research and developments in the field of neuroscience and phospho-proteomics.
- Mentor and train graduate students, undergraduate students, and technicians in the lab.
- Present research findings at lab meetings, departmental events, and scientific conferences.
- Maintain a detailed laboratory notebook and ensure that all developed code is posted to GitHub or other appropriate repositories at the time of publication.
- Collaborate effectively with lab members and other colleagues within the department and the broader research community.
Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Strong background and hands-on experience in phospho-proteomics.
- Proficiency in other techniques such as scRNAseq, mouse genetics, genome engineering, electrophysiology, behavioral analysis, and imaging is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
