Senior Data Scientist

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist to support our customer and join our passionate team of high-impact problem solvers.

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist who is motivated by working towards a public sector mission. The ideal candidate will be proficient in data analysis programming languages such as Python or R, possess strong statistical skills, and have a deep understanding of databases and data structures. Additionally, experience with data visualization tools, Cloud-based systems, and querying languages, are essential.

What we are looking for: 

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in data science and machine learning
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or equivalent for data analysis
• Strong knowledge of statistical techniques and their application to real-world problems
• Experience with databases, data modeling, and data structures
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Experience with Cloud-based systems and AI/Machine Learning development (e.g., AWS, Azure)
• Proficiency in querying languages (e.g., SQL)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics)
• Ability to obtain Security+ certification within the first 90 days of employment with Raft

Highly preferred:

• Proven track record of working independently and overseeing projects with multiple stakeholders
• Ability to advise non-technical teams on advanced data topics including but not exclusive to data strategy, applications of emerging data methods and technologies, and privacy management
• Experience documenting standard operating procedures, contextualized recommendations, and assisting in the creation of comprehensive and sustainable data strategy

Clearance Requirements:

• Able to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance
