Sr. Full Stack Tech Lead Manager, Content Cloud

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Sr. Full Stack Tech Lead Manager to build performant, scalable, resilient applications that will delight Peloton’s 7 million members across the globe. On the Content Cloud team, you’ll play a critical role building the software that powers the Peloton member experience. You’ll work in a highly collaborative environment to build brand new content experiences and the tools our production team uses to shape those experiences. You will team with engineers across the company to lead our software boldly into the future.You will be responsible for leading a small team (3-4 engineers) and also large scale projects, collaborating within the team, and with cross functional teams on estimating project scopes, setting milestones, as well as identifying project risks and dependencies.

 

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON:

Leadership

• Staff and lead a team of engineers responsible for our Content Cloud Tooling team
• Own and be responsible for operation excellence and delivery of projects and systems for the team
• Mentor software engineers from diverse backgrounds to nurture a culture of ownership, learning, automation, re-use, and engineering efficiency through the use of software design patterns and industry best practices
• Instill a culture of automation, re-use and engineering efficiency

Design and Development

• Assume technical responsibility for the current Content Tooling platform and build out the new platform for content production. Lookout for opportunities for platform improvement, and work with engineers to scale our production systems.
• Identify and lead technical initiatives to build clean, robust, and performant applications.
• Contribute to the design of software architecture and hands-on development of new features and functionalities in the stack.

Drive large-scale projects

• Collaborate with cross-functional team members from Product, Design, Program Management in order to deliver against quarterly and annual roadmap objectives.
• Handle planning and breaking down large projects into milestones and identifying risks and dependencies.
• Iterate on the tools that our production team uses to produce its world-class content

 

YOU BRING TO PELOTON: 

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 1+ years of management or project/product lead experience
• Proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript
• Proficiency in React (preferred), Vue, Svelte, or similar JavaScript rendering framework
• Proficiency in Jest, Mocha, or similar JavaScript testing framework
• Experience with JavaScript build tools, like Webpack, Rollup, Gulp, or Grunt
• Experience integrating frontends with RESTful or GraphQL services

Bonus Points

• Have experience working with designing new tooling framework from ground up
• Have solid understanding of clean software design principles
• Have Github project(s) or contribute to open source communities
• Have worked in a Test Driven Development environment before
• Have experience in building secure frontend tooling framework 
• Have understanding of large scale backend system

Base Salary: $172,100.00 to $223,800.00 

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes.
