Description
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team at Metals America. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient, safe, and accurate handling of raw copper materials, finished products, and related supplies. Responsibilities include transportation, storage, and documentation of materials, ensuring smooth production operations in accordance with company protocols and safety regulations. Work is performed in a copper manufacturing and warehouse facility. This environment may include exposure to loud machinery, heat from furnaces, and heavy equipment. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
· Receive, inspect, and verify deliveries of raw copper materials and supplies.
· Safely transport copper coils, bars, ingots, and other materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
· Store materials in designated locations and ensure accurate labeling and documentation.
· Support copper production lines by supplying required materials in a timely manner.
· Track and log inventory movements using warehouse management systems.
· Perform routine inspections and maintenance of handling equipment.
· Follow all company safety procedures and proper handling protocols, particularly when dealing with heavy or sharp copper components.
· Assist in packaging, staging, and preparing finished copper products for shipment.
· Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to meet daily operational goals.
Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Prior experience as a material handler or in a manufacturing/industrial setting, preferably with metal or copper products.
· Familiarity with safe handling and storage of metal materials.
· Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment (certification preferred).
· Attention to detail with strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
· Basic computer literacy for inventory and logistics software.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
