Position Summary:
The Global Product Development and Supply (GPS) organization is going through an important evolution to enable more reliable and consistent delivery of medicines to patients faster. This evolution includes elements that will help elevate its current operations to be best in class and differentiate them as a competitive advantage for the future. As part of the evolution GPS needs to become a Digital First organization. Digital First means leveraging the best of technology, data, analytics, business processes and people to achieve improved business outcomes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building and leading a team of UX designers and design thinking experts to drive innovation and improve the customer experience across all digital touchpoints. The Senior Director will report to the ED, Digital Transformation, and be part of the extended Digital Innovation Leadership team. The successful candidate will be the business owner for GPS UX and Service Design capabilities and will need to partner closely with Functions and Operating Units, Business Insights and Analytics (BIA) and IT who build and deploy capabilities and technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a team of UX designers and design thinking experts, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high-quality design deliverables.
- Develop and maintain design standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all digital experiences.
- Develop and implement design thinking methodologies to drive innovation and solve complex business problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define user requirements, create wireframes and prototypes, and conduct user testing to validate design concepts.
- Stay up to date with emerging design trends and technologies and incorporate them into our design processes and methodologies.
- Partner with stakeholders to define and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital experiences and use data to inform design decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to support UX design and design thinking initiatives.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Enthusiasm and energy to help transform/disrupt organizations, with tenacity/perseverance for leading change.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in UX design, with a focus on digital experiences. Experience leading design thinking workshops and applying design thinking methodologies to solve complex business problems.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing, coaching and mentoring a team of UX designers and researchers.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates expertise in UX design, design thinking, and user research.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or supply chain environment is a plus.
