Sr. Research Assistant

We are seeking a Sr. Research Assistant who will coordinate a randomized controlled trial taking place at JHH on the use of a new kind of bassinet that facilitates contact between mothers and infants.

Study description - Most bassinets in US hospitals are still designed for use by ambulatory nursery staff, rather than for use by mobility-impaired new mothers. Current bassinet designs restrict maternal access to their infants and have the potential to expose infants to physical injury. This study aims to evaluate the Couplet Care BassinetTM, a novel infant clinical bassinet designed to support safe implementation of skin-to-skin contact and rooming-in on postnatal units.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Study Management

• Develop detailed project schedules, timelines, and deliverables in accordance with the protocol and ensure those goals are met throughout the project's lifetime.
• Facilitate communication between all team members.
• Run project update meetings with agendas and synthesize information into coherent report outs.
• Oversee the Research Assistants and coordinate with the Clinical Research Nurse to ensure that randomization and enrollment are proceeding according to schedule and all IRB and protocol requirements are followed.
• Monitor project risks and IRB adherence and work with collaborators to develop mitigation plans.
• Ensure project files and data are organized, maintained, stored, and shared with project team members for efficient retrieval and use.
• Ensure accessibility at every stage of the project.
• Prepare and assemble project materials and reports for distribution.
• Demonstrate high level of teamwork and collaboration in communicating, planning, negotiating, decision-making, and leadership.

Publication & Budget Assistance

• Assist in the development of publications and reports through collaborative writing and editing.
• Maintain records of any expenditure within university policies.
• Use resources in accord with sound fiscal principles.

• Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
• Two years of related experience.
• Additional graduate level education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

• Master’s Degree in related discipline.
• Research coordination experience in a clinical trial.
• Experience with research study coordination and management.

Starting Salary Range: Min $40,900 - Max $71,600 Annually ($56,250 targeted; Commensurate with experience)

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
