Broadcasting Senior Data and Analytics Specialist (O&D)

Our Broadcast Data & Insights team in Content Broadcast Platforms Department is looking for a passionate Senior Data and Analytics Specialist to work across multiple systems and support Engineering and Operations teams by working on new ways of capturing and analyzing data and by making sense out of existing data.

This role will be key in maintaining the quality of Sky operations and engineering as well as the stability of our platforms.

What you’ll do?

• Lead analysis of technical and business KPIs in close collaboration with internal teams across the Sky Group and 3rd party vendors. Analysis will cover multiple domains, from e2e video transmission, to QoE, development and FinOps.
• Provide support to Engineering, Operations and Support teams in the analysis, troubleshooting and diagnosis of issues.
• Designing, implementing and maintaining self-serve dashboards to empower business and technical users at all levels
• Create reports that drive operational and engineering performance improvements and ensures the right visibility of performance for the intended audience.
• Proactively look for ways to improve KPIs and create new ones through deep dive analysis.
• Deliver results of analysis and suggestions for improvement to wider stakeholders, through a multitude of communication methods.
• Articulate your findings to key stakeholders across Sky Group with clear recommendations on next steps.
• Have the ability to think of the big picture; always consider the impact of one KPI on another to present a well-rounded view of reporting and analysis.
• Proactively engage with stakeholders to ensure outputs continue to be fit for purpose. Be aware of reporting hierarchy and fit for purpose story telling; each audience is different, and all outputs should reflect them.
• Managing a DevOps approach to release and maintenance of data pipelines & reports, working closely with our Engineering teams

What you'll bring:

• Knowledge and experience with Cloud platforms, GCP or AWS
• Knowledge and experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Knowledge of data ingestion pipelines
• Knowledge of Data visualization systems within Grafana and Tableau
• Knowledge and experience with DevOps practices, in particular with tools like Github for code management and with the containers ecosystem, in particular with kubernetees
• Experience with Python and in particular with its libraries for Data Analysis (e.g. Pandas, Numpy)
• High competency in interrogating large volumes of data and producing simplified views which can be widely used at any skill level
• Ability to produce and maintain high standard, workable reporting for operational and business use
• Ability to multitask and work to tight timescales. Experience in working on several topics simultaneously.
• Stakeholder relationship and management essential.
• Strong communication skills to illustrate and articulate findings to key stakeholders.
• Confident presentation skills to different audiences from operational advisors to Heads of site
• Deep understanding of data with the ability to translate this into actionable insights and recommendations
• Experience of working within a Performance Analysis environment
