About the role

<p>Wood is looking for <strong>Senior Technical Safety Engineer</strong> to join our THSE Team. The role will be based in Madrid.</p><p>The successful candidate will be highly motivated, able to work independently, and have demonstrable teamwork capabilities. They will be confident in their own ability to demonstrate Oil &amp; Gas, and Petrochemical to support the effective delivery of Process Safety and Loss Prevention activities in Projects. Energy transition projects experiences will be highly valuated</p> <ul><li>To carry out engineering activities as Lead Technical Safety engineer</li><li>Delivery of Loss Prevention key documents (safety layouts, safety philosophies, P&amp;IDs, etc.)</li><li>Facilitate or participate in technical safety reviews such as HAZID, HAZOP, Bow-Tie, SIL, LOPA, QRA, FERA, Plot Plan review, 3D Model review, and to develop related procedures</li><li>Review Vendor’s documentation</li><li>Develop specifications, data sheets, schedules, study reports, and design calculations; ensuring they conform to engineering quality, competence, and project management systems</li><li>Comply with the requirements of the Continuous improvement policies in all our Company activities, to guarantee a position of global performance improvement</li></ul> <p><strong>Please see below the requirements that we typically seek for the position. Alternatively, BSc. Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering </li><li>Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in the Oil &amp; Gas, Petrochemical, or Energy transition industry</li><li>Minimum of 5 years’ working experience as Technical Safety Engineer</li><li>Master in any safety studies (Fire Fighting, Fire &amp; Gas, HAZOP certification, NFPA certification, etc.) will be an advantage</li><li>Proven experience is required in Oil &amp; Gas projects</li><li>Experience in Energy Transition technologies (Green Hydrogen, Green Ammonia, Green Methanol, Bio-refineries, co-processing of vegetable oils) will be positively valued.</li><li>Experience acting as Owner’s engineering (PMC) will be highly valued</li><li>Experience to have conducted Process Hazard Analysis studies such as HAZID, HAZOP, SIL as a facilitator will be positively valued</li><li>Knowledge of THSE software as Pipenet, PHAST, PHA works, Flaresim, or equivalent will be an advantage</li><li>A self-driven and meticulous individual who has the strong ability to multi-task</li><li>Highly motivated, well organized, resourceful, and proactive</li><li>Excellent command of Spanish (Native will be an advantage) and English languages</li><li>Holding a valid permit to live and work in Spain is required</li></ul> <p></p> Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
