Position Overview
We are seeking a Software Engineer with expertise in Agile development, software engineering best practices, and automation to join our cross-functional Scrum team. This role involves developing software, defining acceptance criteria, scripting automation tools, and integrating Open Source and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solutions to enhance testing and system performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Development & Testing:
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug software applications and systems that incorporate logical and mathematical solutions.
- Create and integrate bug fixes and feature enhancements using DIA standard development tools (e.g., Java, Jira, Git).
- Collaboration & System Design:
- Work closely with systems analysts, engineers, and developers to define system limitations, capabilities, and performance requirements.
- Utilize scientific analysis and mathematical models to evaluate system design and predict outcomes.
- Integration & Deployment:
- Develop automation scripts leveraging Open Source and COTS tools to streamline testing and deployment.
- Coordinate software system installations and monitor functionality to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Platform & Security Optimization:
- Perform ongoing software engineering tasks to support, maintain, and enhance system performance.
- Work within CentOS, RHEL, and Oracle environments, ensuring scalability and security.
- Agile & DevOps Practices:
- Participate in Agile Scrum processes, contributing to sprint planning, acceptance criteria development, and team collaboration.
- Utilize Docker, Keycloak, WildFly, Tomcat, ArcGIS, and Fidos to manage and deploy software solutions.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience OR PhD with 6+ years of relevant experience
- Alternatively: An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance or SCI eligibility, with the ability to pass a polygraph
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, and Python
- Operating Systems & Databases: Experience working in CentOS, RHEL, and Oracle environments
- Cloud & Database Technologies: Familiarity with AWS services, including PostgreSQL and Oracle
- Modern Development Frameworks & Techniques:
- RESTful APIs, JSON
- Spring, Spring Boot
- JavaScript frameworks: Ember.js
- Containerization & Security:
- Experience with Docker, Keycloak, WildFly, Tomcat, ArcGIS, and Fidos
- Collaboration & Workstyle:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an Agile environment

- Experience with Git, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence
