Job Summary

The Senior Client Manager is responsible for the overall relationship with the client, starting at implementation and continuing through everyday problem resolution and renewal activities. The Senior Client Manager will work directly with sales executives during finalist presentations and may be asked to present to potential clients. The Senior Client Manager and their client coordinators will be expected to support and service between 12 – 15 groups of clients. They maintain senior management level contact with the Benefits, Human Resources, and Financial staff of the client. The Senior Client Manager is also responsible for the service delivery of Health Benefits products and services that ensure client satisfaction. Senior Client Managers may have some internal project participation. Senior Client Managers are charged with retaining and growing their assigned book of business, but also supporting their Regional Team as needed. Senior Client Managers are responsible for mentoring and supporting other client managers on their team, as discussed and reviewed by the Senior Director of Client Management.
Senior Client Managers may be designated as Coach/Mentors. Senior Client Managers with Coach/Mentor designations will have fewer clients assigned to them so as to allow for coach/mentor responsibilities as outlined below.

This role is based remotely, however candidates must live in one the following states: IL, MT, IN, IA, KS, MO, NC, NM, OK, PA, TX or WI

Job Description:

Responsible for the ongoing involvement with assigned clients, including but not limited to:

  • Problem solving/issue resolution
  • Personal contact with the clients – phone calls, visits, etc.
  • Analyzing and presenting reporting packages
  • Coordinating and presenting renewals, claim reviews, with appropriate follow-through
  • Presenting relevant industry, corporate, etc. issues to client
  • Completing Client Action Plans on key accounts
  • Recommending appropriate Products and Solutions
  • Will provide back-up support to Sr. Director as assigned – this may include activities such as meeting facilitation, assistance with client escalations, etc.

Work in close collaboration with Implementation Coordinator, including but not limited to:

  • Working with client coordinator(s) on submission of renewal and plan changes
  • Working closely with Underwriting on stop loss renewal- includes marketing package and confirming sold stop loss details
  • Ensuring timely completion of ASA, SPD, other documents
  • Timely updating and maintenance of Salesforce

Work in close collaboration with Implementation Manager for assigned new business, including but not limited to:

  • Working closely with the sales producers to learn not only what was sold but also nuances and personality of group
  • Ensuring timely completion of ASA, SPD, other documents
  • Timely setup and maintenance of Salesforce
  • Participates in appropriate client/departmental corporate meetings
  • Coach/Mentor responsibilities – as applicable/assigned
  • Serve as a coach/mentor to assigned client managers
  • Will document time spent coaching and mentoring
  • Will meet with assigned client managers on a regular basis to provide coaching and mentoring.
  • Assist with onboarding new client managers
  • Will document time spent supporting onboarding activities
  • Partner with training team for the client management team as assigned
  • Senior Client Managers with Coach/Mentor responsibilities will have a smaller book of business so as to accommodate additional coaching/mentoring responsibilities

Required Job Qualifications:

  • 5 years previous experience within Client Management and/or experience in a similar TPA or insurance environment with client facing/client support responsibilities
  • State insurance license required or obtained within 90 days from date of hire
  • Results oriented and self-motivated
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as are exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to interact with senior level executives
  • Thorough understanding of self-funding and employee benefit plans; stop loss understanding a plus; Knowledge and understanding of benefit-related federal laws (i.e., ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, PPACA, etc.)
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Analytical skills, problem
