Job Description

You will be responsible for developing and implementing public affairs strategies, building relationships with key stakeholders, and representing our organization in the EU. You will be part of our global and multi-diverse team in Group Communications & Public Affairs.

Job Responsibilities

As our Senior Public Affairs Manager, EU Office your strategic priorities will be to: 

• Develop and implement public affairs strategies to support business objectives
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, regulators, NGOs, and industry associations
• Monitor and analyze policy and regulatory developments and trends at EU level and provide strategic counsel to senior management
• Represent the company in external forums and events
• Effective identification and management of regulatory risks and opportunities for Danfoss  
• Ensure a long-term regulatory focus and influence strategy that is aligned with Danfoss business interests.

 
Other key tasks & activities you can expect are:

• Advise and liaise with Danfoss group functions, segment Public & Industry Affairs functions, and regions on regulatory issues, opportunities, and threats
• Coordinate and develop Danfoss’ positions on strategic, cross-functional issues
• Drive cross-functional issues as appropriate and identified in cooperation with segment Public & Industry Affairs functions
• Support the industry-specific EU public affairs work of Danfoss Climate Solutions (DCS) and Danfoss Power Electronics and Drives (DPD) segments as and when needed
• Develop and implement an EU public affairs strategy for Danfoss Power Solutions (DPS)
• Build and manage relationships with the EU policy environment, including Commission, Parliament and member states, in cooperation with segment Public & Industry Affairs functions
• Lead or coordinate advocacy campaigns and external positioning with relevant EU stakeholders, in cooperation with segment Public & Industry Affairs functions
• Represent Danfoss in relevant trade associations and stakeholder platforms, including Orgalim and EU-ASE
• Participate in Danfoss coordination bodies, including with regional public affairs colleagues in Europe
• Identify and leverage funding opportunities in the EU system with segments and group functions

Background & Skills

• Master’s degree in economics, politics, or law
• 5-10 years of work experience in public affairs, government, industry trade association/alliance
• Experience working with international teams and a variety of stakeholders
• Ability to navigate the political, legislative and regulatory environment at senior EU level
• Proven track record in establishing collaborations with industry partners, governmental authorities and agencies, politicians, NGOs, Academia, trade associations and society key opinion leaders
• Be able to work independently, have a natural focus for details, self-driven and flexible approach to work
• Enjoy communicating and conveying complex policies and issues and be able to translate technical information to policy language
• Experience and/or knowledge of energy and climate, including heating and cooling, building sector, electrification, and the energy transition, combined with funding/financing is considered as a major advantage
• Good writing and editing skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluent language skills (written/spoken) for the English language are a must. Other languages are a major advantage
