Sr. Community Outreach Specialist

We are in search of a casual Sr. Community Outreach Specialist who will be supervised by the HIV/AIDS Program Manager at the John G. Bartlett Specialty Practice. The Sr. Community Outreach Specialist will be involved in community and patient engagement and retention efforts aimed at individuals living with HIV, as well as those who are HIV negative and at high risk for HIV. Will need to demonstrate outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills in a dynamic work setting. This role is funded by a grant and may have a limited duration.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Engage in health promotion and health education initiatives.
• Deliver HIV testing and counseling services during community gatherings.
• Manage data tracking systems, such as EMR, documents, spreadsheets, internal and external databases, and web-based platforms.
• Collaborate with the HIV/AIDS Program Manager to create HIV prevention, treatment, and health promotion materials.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the project supervisor or manager.

Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of HIV, Hepatitis C, and medical terminology associated with HIV disease.

• Bachelor's Degree in related field.
• Some related work experience.
• Additional experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

• Ability to use computer and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, REDCap Database and spreadsheet knowledge.
• A minimum of two years working with persons at considerable risk for HIV and/or living with HIV preferred.

Starting Salary Range: $17.00 - $30.00 HRLY ($24.00 HRLY targeted; Commensurate with experience)
