Position Summary
The Senior Accounting Manager plays a critical leadership role in overseeing Stratosphere Quality’s financial operations. This position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP, supporting financial planning and analysis, and leading month-end and year-end close processes.
This individual will also mentor and develop accounting staff, work closely with department leaders, and provide strategic insights to senior leadership to support decision-making and long-term financial goals.
Essential Job Function
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and general ledger.
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes; prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and external audit requirements.
Partner with FP&A team and CFO to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Develop and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.
Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit preparation.
Supervise, coach, and develop accounting team members, fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses to support business operations and strategic decisions.
Monitor cash flow, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Operations, and IT to ensure financial data integrity.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
CPA or CMA certification preferred.
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills required.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in manufacturing or professional services industry preferred.
