Position Summary

The Senior Accounting Manager plays a critical leadership role in overseeing Stratosphere Quality’s financial operations. This position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP, supporting financial planning and analysis, and leading month-end and year-end close processes.

This individual will also mentor and develop accounting staff, work closely with department leaders, and provide strategic insights to senior leadership to support decision-making and long-term financial goals.

 

 

Essential Job Function

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and general ledger.

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes; prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and external audit requirements.

• Partner with FP&A team and CFO to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.

• Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit preparation.

• Supervise, coach, and develop accounting team members, fostering a culture of accountability and growth.

• Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses to support business operations and strategic decisions.

• Monitor cash flow, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Operations, and IT to ensure financial data integrity.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

• CPA or CMA certification preferred.

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.

• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills required.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in manufacturing or professional services industry preferred.
