About this role:
This role creates thought leadership in the topic areas of insider risk and security risk management through published research, conversations with clients (Inquiry), stage presentations, teleconferences, and client meetings. It is important that you have a vision for how the disciplines of insider risk and security risk management are evolving worldwide and at a regional level.
What you’ll do:
As a Gartner analyst, you will meet with clients every day: on the phone, in a videoconference, from the stage at a Gartner event or face-to-face during a sales support visit. In every client interaction, analysts help clients solve difficult puzzles that lead to better performance. To support these conversations you will research technology, practices and trends and produce written research for Gartner clients to download and apply.
- Conduct research and analysis in specific areas of expertise targeting clients’ key initiatives.
- Deliver high quality, actionable advice through a variety of media.
- Write research articles and notes in a manner that clarifies client thinking and inspires executives to action.
- Remain ahead of the curve on developments and issues within these specified areas as well as applicable adjacent areas.
- Present your findings in compelling presentations at Gartner conferences around the globe.
What you’ll need:
It helps to be obsessed with your topic! Gartner analysts are correctly viewed as THE experts. This means you need to know your markets, vendors, trends, management practices, etc. and be able to see the forest and the trees. Most Gartner analysts have many years of experience and enjoy solving puzzles.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred
- 8+ years experience in cyber risk management or a similar role
- Expert-level knowledge of common cybersecurity risk management frameworks such as NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and FAIR quantitative risk analysis. Experience conducting cyber risk assessments is a plus.
- Experience developing and implementing common risk management documents such as cyber risk registers, risk appetite statements, and cyber GRC policies.
- Familiarity with cyber risk management and GRC software platforms. Hands-on experience with one or more platforms is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience conducting original research and delivering impactful insight in published articles or written reports.
- Demonstrated experience presenting in both public forums and one-on-one settings. Experience presenting to executives is a plus.
- Ability to conduct occasional travel, regionally and globally
