This role partners with Product Line leaders and cross-functional teams to:</p><ul><li><p>Identify new markets and business opportunities</p></li><li><p>Shape and operationalize go-to-market and investment strategies</p></li><li><p>Build and own a robust & actionable M&A pipeline for PMC</p></li><li><p>Ensure disciplined capital deployment and business case development</p></li></ul><p></p><p>The ideal candidate brings deep rail industry knowledge, <span>strong financial</span> acumen, and a low-ego, high-influence leadership style.</p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><p></p><p><b>1. Growth Initiatives</b></p><ul><li><p>Define and refine mid- and long-term growth strategies – including market entry, partnerships, portfolio expansion- in close partnership with PL leaders</p></li><li><p>Operationalize strategy into execution plans – in close partnership with Product Line and functional leaders</p></li><li><p>Drive disciplined capital allocation decisions through:</p><ul><li><p>Financial modeling</p></li><li><p>ROI and risk/opportunity analysis</p></li><li><p>Prioritization of internal investment projects</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Partner cross-functionally (Engineering, Product, Commercial) to align operational capabilities with growth targets</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>2. Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)</b></p><ul><li><p>Support corporate M&A efforts by:</p><ul><li><p>Developing a robust and actionable deal pipeline</p></li><li><p>Identifying strategic action fields for inorganic growth</p></li><li><p>Craft compelling strategic rationale and business cases for potential acquisitions</p></li></ul></li></ul><p></p><p><b>3. Strategic Enablement & Cross-functional Influence</b></p><ul><li><p>Serve as a trusted advisor to the PMC President and senior leadership team to actively shape PMC portfolio strategy</p></li><li><p>Influence investment, operational, and commercial decisions through:</p><ul><li><p>Data-driven and operational insights</p></li><li><p>Market intelligence</p></li><li><p>Financial clarity</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Ensure a disciplined approach to value creation—knowing when to double down and when to walk away</p></li><li><p>Confidently challenge assumptions while remaining open to diverse perspectives</p></li></ul><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><ul><li><p>15+ years of experience in rail or a comparable industrial sector</p></li><li><p>Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role, with global scope</p></li><li><p>Deep knowledge of the rail industry, <span>preferably rolling</span> stock</p></li><li><p>Experience managing cash and capacity in rail or in an equivalent operationally intensive environment</p></li><li><p>Strong track record in M&A: from deal origination through to integration</p></li><li><p>Financially fluent—comfortable with business cases, capital deployment, ROI modeling</p></li><li><p>Proven success in working across diverse, global stakeholder environments</p></li><li><p>Exceptional communication, influence, and leadership capabilities</p></li></ul><p><b>Desirable Attributes</b></p><ul><li><p>Financially savvy: loves numbers, thrives on modeling, ROI, and scenario planning</p></li><li><p>Strong business judgment: clear on risks vs. opportunities, knows when to invest or exit</p></li><li><p>Credible, collaborative leader: low ego, respected partner across senior teams</p></li><li><p>Disciplined decision-maker: brings focus and clarity to complex growth conversations</p></li><li><p>Strategically sharp: able to shape and refine long-term business strategy across a dynamic business landscape</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Who are we? </b></p><p>Wabtec Corporation is a leading global provider of equipment, systems, digital solutions, and value-added services for freight and transit rail as well as the mining, marine, and industrial markets.
