Job Description
AECOM Hunt is seeking a highly talented Electrical Estimator to join our Hunt Construction group. This position will be supporting our Indianapolis, Indiana location.
Job Summary:
- Develops proficiency in the use of the Company estimating systems and processes.
- Recognizes, understands and applies estimating terminology, measures, concepts and principles for compiling all types of estimates.
- Recognizes how various processes/project actions and assumptions may impact the estimate and quantifies the impact.
- Assists in analyzing and using estimates to predict key project issues.
- Prepares and/or coordinates preparation of full project estimates. Provides complete conceptual and final estimating input.
- Understands construction means, methods, and sequences-singe discipline.
- Responsible for performing all aspects of estimating.
- Assists in the preparation of the Estimate Plan.
- Conducts work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard estimating techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- May provide guidance to less experienced estimating personnel.
- Develops wage rate build-ups.
- Reads and interprets drawings, specifications, Requests-for-Proposals and contracts.
- Develops detailed material take-offs.
- Prepares scope and bid package breakdowns for subcontract and vendor quotes.
- Prepares subcontract bid analysis for scope, cost, and price.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for activities related to estimating all elements of project cost including labor (manual and non-manual), materials and permanent equipment, supplies, consumables and expenses, construction equipment rental and operating costs, contingency, escalation, program risk, etc.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirement:
- BA/BS + 6 years of relevant electrical construction and/or estimating experience or AA/AS and 8 years of relevant experience or HSD/GED and 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualification:
- Demonstrated experience in electrical estimating and low voltage systems.
- Relevant experience in electrical trades.
- Experience in electrical estimating in various commercial industries, such as: aviation, healthcare, sports arenas, concert venues or hospitals.
- Demonstrated experience with commercialized estimating programs, such as MC or other computer aided estimating programs.
- Electrical estimating experience from a larger GC or electrical contractor.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
