The Shopping Experience Program Management team within Expedia Traveler Technology group is responsible for program management and delivery across multiple products (Cars, Lodging, Flights, Cruise, Activities, Ground Transportation), business areas and technology teams.


Within Smart Shopping Experience, the Program Management team focuses on leading and delivering complex web and native app projects, managing dependencies and teams across the EG business. We’re looking for a driven, energetic, collaborative Program Manager, preferably with a background working with technology and software development teams to help deliver solutions that power travel for everyone, everywhere. What you will do:

  • Independently drive execution of technical projects with your assigned team and act as a project orchestrator to free the team to focus on technical delivery.

  • Manage timelines and achievements across projects, evaluating the progress and adjusting the program plan (e.g. task order or timeline) to keep the project on track.

  • Facilitate sprint planning, capacity planning, and develop program roadmap

  • Identify areas of alignment or dependencies across projects and teams

  • Lead identification and mitigation of issues and risks. Ensure issues and risks are documented, monitored and escalated when necessary

  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and design team to ensure effective decision making and documentation of those decisions

  • Monitor and communicate team progress toward delivery outcomes.

    Anticipate the needs of the different audience groups in the business unit/function that receive technical communications and how they differ from each other. 

  • Identify and manage impacts to the project schedule and ensure status reports are produced as required.

  • Work with teams and ensure the execution of new insights or approaches to delivery.

  • Facilitate partnerships with different stakeholders that have varied perspectives to develop effective solutions to issues.

  • Keep up to date with the latest trends on the software development lifecycle and agile engineering practices.

  • Understand and support delivery on any individual part of the Product Development Lifecycle.

  • Establish working relationships with partners and build rapport to become a trusted advisor.

  • Use written and verbal communication skills to convey technical and business concepts with our teams to senior management and executive leaders.

  • Manage multiple projects using tools such as JIRA and confluence.

Who you are:

  • A program manager with knowledge and experience in agile practices and working with agile delivery teams.

  • 2-4 years prior experience in Project and/or Program Management, Agile practices, business communications, and a general understanding of SDLC is required. 

  • Exhibit storytelling and persuasive influencing techniques that build trust with team and partners and establish long-term relationships.

  • Proactively contributes to cross team partnership and alignment of work with other dependent teams.

  • Show a high degree of independence, data-driven, and willingness to focus on getting things done.
