What You Will Do:

​​We are currently searching for a Program Analyst to Complete a broad variety of administrative tasks that facilitate the ​Director, Integrative Biological and Behavioral Sciences’ (DIBBS) ability to effectively lead the organization, including assisting with day-to-day activities; designing and producing complex documents, reports, and presentations; collecting and preparing information for meetings with staff and outside parties; composing and preparing correspondence,  

​supporting onboarding activities for new hires and maintaining contact lists. Assist in communication activities with multiple stakeholders for the division's related programming activities. Serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the DIBBS. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Bethesda, MD.     

  • Attend meetings and confers with staff and officials from NIMHD, NIH and/or other Federal agencies to provide coordination and consistency for policy and program recommendations and guidelines. 

  • Plan and develop, maintain, and monitor integrated reporting systems for assigned programs; communicate information to management for the effective evaluation of program operations and performance. 

  • Maintain a professional working knowledge of NIMHD scientific research programs and their policies and practices as they relate to the various NIH research efforts; plan and review the collection and management of administrative and scientific information within the Division. 

  • Evaluate, develop, and implement the fellowship program, including the maintenance of files and documents; assess process and procedures and recommend improvements where needed. 

  • Promote the fellowship program to educational institutions, universities, and candidates. Conduct meetings and trains staff on various aspects of the fellowship program. 

  • Develop recommendations and policies, prepare and issue procedures and guidelines for implementation of program or administrative policies, delegations, and requirements and is responsible for the coordination, preparation, and analysis of a wide variety of reports. 

  • Extrapolate from existing methods and procedures to future requirements in developing timely and executable plans of action for assigned programs and to provide recommendations and advice to the supervisor and/or other specialists; actions may cross multi-functional and/or organizational lines and may require extensive coordination. 

  • Analyze, develop, and implement new recruiting processes and a variety of training programs.  

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the program to ensure it is meeting the organization's overall objectives. 

  • Produce various detailed reports for use by upper management. 

 
What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 

  • Minimum of TWO (2) years of public sector program development or policy analysis experience 

  • Know how to use PubMed 

  • Experience with MS Office including SharePoint 


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Preferred areas of study are the humanities, political science or public health. 

  • Experience at NIH or with other Federal institutions beneficial.
