Project Engineer - Wilmington, DE
The Project Engineer role is a key position at the Newport site. The position is responsible for ensuring safety, productivity, and capital project implementation is executed every day in line with the expectations of the Engineering Manager and site business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Support and adhere to the principles of the American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care® by protecting the environment, health, safety and security of our employees, contractors, carriers, distributors, visitors, customers and neighbors. Comply with the requirements of the ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System. Support behavior-based safety (NERT) through safety contacts and supporting EHS observers on your team to complete behavior-based observations in support of an improved safety culture.
- Ensure that the capital investment projects comply with Corporate Technical Guidelines & site/corporate EHS guidelines.
- Organize, plan, supervise and manage all activities associated with minor capital investment to achieve the requirements of a given project in a timely and cost-effective manner as defined by the business needs to ensure business targets are achieved.
- Provide technical expertise to implement the project engineering requirements of the site and represent the engineering department as a technical authority to define the concept scope and approach on minor capital projects through to completion & operational.
- Provide support to manufacturing and process development teams in areas of project related activities. Devise and develop cost effective/cost saving opportunities which will support the business needs.
Education & Experience:
- BS/MS in Chemical or Mechanical or Electrical engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience with capital project engineering within a chemical plant environment
- Working knowledge of capital
