Qualifications

 

SCOPE AND MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: To handle a wide range of administrative tasks related to HR operations, such as maintaining employee records, processing worker data, and entering and updating the employee database in HRIS systems. You will be asked to assist in the execution of recruitment, onboarding, and training processes by tracking applicants in the hiring funnel, updating their status, and organizing orientation sessions for new hires. 

SYNOPSIS OF DUTIES:

  • Attend promptly to telephone callers, providing accurate responses directly or transferring calls to other departments, as necessary.
  • Processes incoming and outgoing mail, both internal and external.
  • Maintains a basic inventory of office supplies, ordering replenishment, as necessary, and preparing orders for special items on request.
  • Conduct the preselection and recruitment of new hires by posting job ads, tracking applicants and interviews, verifying references, and performing other tasks to facilitate screening.
  • Analyze the information provided on an applicant’s application or resume and screen and refer qualified applicants to hiring manager for interviewing. 
  • Provide initial screening for hiring managers to obtain work history, education, training, job skills and notate in HRIS.
  • Review qualifications and performance records on internal applicants, per transfer policy.
  • Offer candidates and new and existing employees’ guidance regarding benefits, payroll, recruitment practices, career opportunities, and similar HR-related matters.
  • Collect sensitive personnel information by storing data in HRIS software and updating the database regularly.
  • Participate in handling benefits activities by helping employees fill out and submit enrollment forms and documentation and advising them on eligibility issues.
  • Submit candidates list to Tribal Gaming Office for review and approval.  Notify approved candidates to attend Tribal Gaming licensing process with appropriate identification. 
  • Send list of separated employees to Gaming Office weekly. 
  • Provide notifications for annual gaming license renewals and upon approval, enter renewed license in HRIS.
  • Participate in the execution of onboarding, training initiatives, and career conferences to familiarize prospective and incumbent employees with the company’s practices.
  • Implements, conducts, facilitates, and/or analyzes results of employee morale and retention initiatives such as incentive programs, employee surveys, and exit interviews. 
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in employee retention, morale, recognition, productivity and incentives.
  • Maintain Title 31 Compliance accurately.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

PREREQUISITES:

General:  Must be 21 years of age or older.  Must qualify for a tribal non-gaming license.
