Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Sr Staff Flight Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This role will be within the Strategic Development operating unit with a focus on new development opportunities.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage the execution of all System Test tasks
- Support technical reviews such as System Requirements Review (SRR) and Preliminary Design Review (PDR)
- Prepare, coordinate and brief execution status and risks at program meetings
- Maintain and update system test process documentation
- Supports Program Management in new business pursuits to include: capture, SOW shaping, technology evaluations, authoring white papers, trade studies, process improvement, and bidding & proposals.
- Manage the baseline of new engineering projects to include labor & non-labor planning & earned value management (EVM)
- Responsible for the successful development and execution of test plans and procedures to support program.
- Perform workforce planning in collaboration with the functional homeroom.
- Perform resource planning in collaboration with Program and Enterprise.
- Thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments and collaborative/team settings across all levels.
- Perform CAM duties for T&E cost accounts.
- Support Proposal development for all activities.
āBasic Qualifications for Staff Flight Test Engineer
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university.
- 14 years engineering experience with Bachelors; 12 years engineering experience with a Masters; 10 years of engineering experience with a PhD and Previous Test and Evaluation knowledge and experience.
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current approved PARs to applicable program
- 9 years or more technical experience relating to system engineering, software engineering, or integration and test
- Experience managing a direct report staff
- Earned Value Management System experience
- Ability to analyze data and extract trends, anomalies, and errors.
- Work Package Management or Cost Account Management experience
