Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for an Sr. Windows System Administrator, supporting TOS II, at Arnold Air Force Base, TN. As an Sr. Windows System Administrator, you will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for design, support and maintenance of Data Storage Systems and Peripherals for the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

Job Summary
Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) is the team selected by the U.S. Air Force to conduct Test and Operations Sustainment at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) at Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee. AEDC operates more than 55 aerodynamic and propulsion wind tunnels, rocket and turbine engine test cells, space environmental chambers, arc heaters, ballistic ranges and other specialized units located in six states. Many of the complex's test units have capabilities unmatched elsewhere in the United States; some are unique in the world. AEDC is one of three installations which are part of the Air Force Test Center (AFTC), one of six subordinate commands of the Air Force Materiel Command organization, and an important national resource.
AEDC’s mission is to conduct developmental test and evaluation for the Nation through modeling, simulation, and ground and flight test. Execution of the mission requires a large team of highly qualified and dedicated professionals from multiple technical disciplines to effectively accomplish the objectives of our test customers.
Job Duties:
- Manage and maintain Windows servers, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and File Services.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance.
- Implement security best practices, including patch management and vulnerability assessments.
- Manage the VMware environment, including design, deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, patching, storage, and networking configurations, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and system stability.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security settings, software deployment, and system configurations across workstation and server environments, ensuring adherence to industry standards and security best practices.
- Automate system administration tasks using PowerShell and other scripting tools.
- Develop documentation and standard operating procedures for system configurations.
- Assist in disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Research Information Systems technologies and capabilities. Make recommendations to management on future needs and industry trends.
- Oversee the creation, deployment, and maintenance of Windows system images for efficient workstation provisioning and software standardization.
- Manage enterprise file shares, including permissions, access control, and storage optimization to ensure secure and efficient file sharing.
- Develop and manage backup strategies leveraging Veeam and other solutions to ensure the protection and recovery of critical data.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Windows team managing vulnerabilities, patching, deployment to end users, maintenance of systems/networks, end user support, etc.
- Ensure the security and compliance of IT systems by reviewing for vulnerabilities, recommending and implementing improvements, enforcing security policies and safeguards, ensuring consistent documentation and evaluation of cybersecurity requirements, and collaborating with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to maintain compliance with information assurance regulations and best practices.
