Summary of Role & Key Responsibilities
Anthesis seeks an experienced leader to spearhead our ESG Regulatory Advisory suite of service offerings, leading the refinement, expansion, and day-to-day operations of the team. The purpose of this role is to lead the Solution and team guiding multinational companies through the complex landscape of existing and emerging sustainability regulations. The successful candidate will drive profitable growth and ensure operational excellence in our ESG Regulatory Advisory service offerings. In this role, you will collaborate with strategists, sustainability subject matter experts, and regulatory experts to serve our clients and shape the future of corporate sustainability on behalf of Anthesis.Key Responsibilities:
- Service Offering and Business Development: Lead the expansion and refinement of the ESG Regulatory Advisory service offerings, overseeing the strategic development and continuous improvement of offerings and delivery playbooks to meet market demands and evolving regulatory standards. This includes double materiality assessments, corporate compliance readiness assessments, implementation plans, and strategic integration of ESG compliance priorities, and execution of programs.
- Client Engagement: Act as a senior leader on client engagements to advise and integrate ESG compliance needs with broader client sustainability priorities. Working from identification of material topics to end-state ESG reporting, this role will coach and advise clients (and delivery teams) throughout the journey to compliance, managing client-side C-suite stakeholders.
- Internal Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure we are developing and delivering world-class solutions. This includes partnerships with our global Anthesis teams to ensure service offerings are harmonized across geographies, as well as cross-functional regional teams, to bring seamlessly bring additional subject matter expertise to clients.
- Business success: Drive profitable growth for the ESG Regulatory Advisory solution group, developing annual strategic plans and budgets, tracking monthly and quarterly progress, developing and executing staffing plans, and ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
- Operational excellence: continuously evolve our delivery models to drive digitization, delivery efficiencies, and successful client outcomes. This includes third party partnerships, adopting regulatory intelligence systems, development of digital solutions, and improvement of integrated reporting solutions.
- Team Leadership and Talent Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation among ESG legal and compliance professionals. This includes attracting, retaining, and nurturing top talent by provide career development opportunities and clear pathways for progression within the team, and managing team performance.
Key Requirements & Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Deep expertise in evolving ESG regulatory landscape, with strong familiarity and experience with standards such as CSRD/ESRS, IFRS/ISSB, California climate bills; etc.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
- Ability to integrate ESG compliance with broader sustainability priorities and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Excellent communication and client engagement skills.
- Capable of building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven experience leading and managing consulting operations, including strong financial acumen with the ability to drive profitable growth.
- Experience in key sectors such as consumer goods, manufacturing, or technology.
- Experience advising board members and C-suite executives on complex legal and strategic issues.
