We are dedicated to shaping an inclusive culture that drives excellence, innovation, and results by enabling talent acceleration and development, engagement, and the employee experience.  The Maintenance Team is a matrix organization within Beyond Meat that is dedicated to creating food products that are leading the gold standard in plant-based proteins. They are looking for an outstanding individual to join the team located in Devault, PA as a Facilities Maintenance Technician.
The Facilities Maintenance Technician (FMT) is responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds at the manufacturing sites and performs daily checklists on critical plant equipment, such as boilers, air compressors, and other utilities. The FMT should be professional, customer-focused, and able to work in a diverse and dynamic environment, be well organized, and have project management skills. 

TASKS, DUTIES, & GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems
  • General building and grounds maintenance:
  • Entrance doors, garage door, and high-speed rollup door repair
  • Drywall, wall patching, and painting
  • Roof patching, tarp hangings, and removal, as needed
  • Basic remodeling skills, window replacement, flashing, molding, etc.
  • Concrete, epoxy, laminate, and urethane floor repairs and replacements
  • Hanging signage throughout the plant and around the property
  • Basic plumbing repairs, bathroom fixtures repair and replacement, toilet replacement and repairs, etc.
  • Basic electrical, replacing lamps and ballasts, receptacles, light switches, etc.  
  • Operate Wastewater Pre-Treatment plant, as assigned
  • Maintain trash and cardboard compactors
  • Assist with HVAC repairs, motor replacements, bearings, filter replacements, and unit cleanings
  • Travel off-site to pick up building repair materials as needed
  • Daily boiler and air compressor checks and blow-downs
  • Assist with snow removal, salting, and winter-preparedness
  • Assist managing all HVAC systems and associated equipment, and monitor the building automation system
  • Review and understand equipment and methods of operations, safety, security, etc.
  • Perform facility inspections, prepare and submit reports on conditions in the building, and recommend actions
  • Maintain compliance with City, County, and State ordinance and codes
  • Support after-hours building needs and activities as required
  • Provide support with the security badge system and time clocks throughout the facilities
  • Work with Quality Assurance to support audit readiness
  • Adhere to all facility policies concerning safety, security, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)Performs other duties, as assigned, and follows through on requests in a timely manner

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education, Technical Skills, and/or Previous Experience: 
  • High School diploma or GED, combination of education and at least 5 years of proven experience in facilities maintenance
  • Certification in HVAC
  • Building maintenance technology, or relevant field a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of general maintenance procedures along with a skill set that includes basic proficiencies in plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and electrical/mechanical systems  

  • Other qualifications:
  • Valid First Aid and AED certification
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Knowledge of basic internet and email operations 
  • Ability to perform and manage technically complex projects using independent judgment and personal initiative
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong customer and people skills
  • Aptitude for organizing tasks, managing time, and prioritizing projects
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with other internal departments
  • The FMT must be able to use time and resources effectively and efficiently, have excellent interpersonal skills, and organizational and project management skills.

  • Warehouse and production manufacturing environment that includes both tempered and ambient areas.  
  • The work environment is representative of those an employee encounters while performing
