The opportunity
As the Engineering Lead within our Nordic Digital Products Team, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of our digital product landscape. This role is more than just a job; it's a chance to play a pivotal role in EY's evolution into a product-centric leader. Reporting to the Nordic Tax and Law CTO, you will lead the engineering team (today 10 engineers), oversee hiring, make key technical decisions, and refine processes for optimal output and quality.

Your key responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team, including recruitment activities.

• Provide coaching and regular feedback to engineers, set individual goals, and evaluate performance.
• Ensure collaboration with Product and Design teams to deliver high-quality products.
• Clearly communicate technical strategies and advocate for code quality and project efficiency.
• Improve Agile Development practices to enhance workflow and team responsiveness.
• Actively contribute to coding efforts.

Skills and attributes for success
To thrive in this role, you should possess a blend of leadership skills, technical expertise, and a visionary mindset. Key attributes include:

• Proven experience in people management within international, multi-disciplinary tech and product teams, skilled in team-building and organizational development.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and manage technical teams
• A solid track record of guiding software products from concept to market launch.
• Strong communication skills, adept at providing clear context, exchanging feedback, inspiring innovation, and empowering team members
• Technical expertise in containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, front-end web technologies (React, Angular, Vue), and mastery of JavaScript frameworks coupled with coding standards.
• Proficiency in managing databases (SQL, NoSQL), utilizing cloud platforms (Azure), and enhancing CI/CD pipelines for streamlined automation.

To qualify for the role, you must have. 

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree or experience
• 8+ years of experience, including 2+ years of people management.

• Experience with designing, building, and iterating on scalable software applications and taking products from an idea state to a level of maturity
