Position Summary 

A Senior Vehicle Artist creates ultimate-fidelity vehicle assets for the MSIM simulation software, through the full art workflow from mid-poly and/or high/low-poly modelling, to UV unwrapping, baking, and texture creation, to import into Unreal Engine. In addition, a Senior Vehicle Artist supports, assists, and provides technical and artistic feedback to other vehicle art colleagues. A Senior Vehicle Artist should also be capable of bringing new art workflow ideas and techniques to the team and documenting these additions where applicable.

 

Role and Responsibilities 

  • Creation of ultimate-fidelity vehicle art assets to established art specifications
  • Mid-poly and/or high- and low-poly modelling
  • UV Unwrapping
  • Texturing
  • Unreal Engine imports and artwork setup in-engine
  • Provide feedback to vehicle art colleagues
  • Ability to optimise workflows and bring new ideas to the vehicle art team and be able to document these changes/additions

 

 

Skills and Experience 

  • 5+ years of games, simulation, or other relevant tech industry experience
  • High proficiency in either mid-poly modelling, and/or the high/low-poly workflow
  • Highly proficient 3ds Max modelling skills for mid-poly modelling
  • High proficiency in other 3D software for high-poly modelling (e.g., Blender, Maya, ZBrush, etc.)
  • Proficiency in PBR texturing, especially Substance 3D Painter
  • A deep knowledge of optimisation for real-time rendering
  • Experience in vehicle art animation
  • Knowledge and experience of technical art - such as Unreal Engine material creation - is a plus
  • A passion for military hardware and simulation games is a bonus

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time non-exempt position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 37.5 hours per week with
