SEGULA TECHNOLOGIES is assisting a major automotive OEM in hiring a Senior Engineer - Body Builder Architect to join our growing team in Greensboro, NC.

This is a DIRECT hire opportunity, NOT a Contractual role.

Job Description

As a Senior Body Builder Architect, you will lead discussions and problem solving on the vehicle requirements and suitability for bodywork within the Vehicle Geometrical Architect area for all current and future projects. Working with many cross-functional teams you will compile and present body builder requirements and suitability for bodywork feature status based on the project targets, customer applications and feature position.

 

You will also be responsible for:

  • Understand the project requirements and package protect for ease of body installation while meeting feature targets.
  • Create CAD packaging proposals to support the body builder requirements.
  • Discuss strategies with vehicle architects, and design commodities for long term road maps and wanted feature positions.
  • Develop and evaluate the body builder features for enhancing our products through virtual studies and clinics.
  • Conduct competitor vehicle analysis to improve our internal designs and competitive stance.
  • Attending cross-functional meetings to understand component changes and to propose enhancements.
  • Analyze and propose common solutions that can support all brands to maximize common parts.
  • Provide input regarding feature advantages to Global Manufacturing, Aftermarket and Engineering.
  • Verify CAD geometry via virtual and physical builds.
  • Report on geometrical adherence related to body builder requirements.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related Engineering field; master’s degree preferred.
  • 5 - 8+ years of experience in product development projects within automotive and/or in commercial vehicles.
  • CAD system experience is essential and preferred in ProE/Creo.
  • Proven experience collaborating in a cross-function team.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft office tools, organization, presenting with the ability to communicate in written and spoken English.
