JOB SUMMARY:
The Indirect Sourcing Lead (“ISL”) is responsible for strategic global sourcing, managing supplier relationships, supply chain security, and managing supplier pricing and contracts. The ISL is responsible for partnering with internal department stakeholders to strategically source and manage various indirect spend categories including, but not limited to, consulting services, software and hardware, marketing research and materials, engineering design services, facilities and real estate, fleet, human resources, and capital equipment. Contract management responsibilities will focus primarily on supplier, consultant, real estate and capital equipment contracts.
ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Manages a high volume of company contracts throughout the contract lifecycle, including development and refinement of new contracts and contracting processes (e.g., development of tracking, tracing, and renewal policies and procedures), along with management of existing contracts
- Formulates and executes strategy for supplier negotiations
- Interacts directly with Midmark’s senior management team and acts as the direct contact for external contractual obligations
- Maintains expert knowledge of stakeholder spends, including industry trends, economic factors, supply chain security issues and key suppliers for each indirect spend category
- Builds and nurtures relationships with key business stakeholders to establish clear and measurable strategic sourcing objectives focused on continuous improvement in each indirect spend category
- Develops and implements category and supplier strategies and leads implementation of strategies through supplier selection, scope of work process and contract management
- Manages supplier relationships within each category through intimate knowledge of the supplier’s management team, facilities, capabilities, business health, and performance record
- Interacts with New Product Development (NPD) teams and the supplier base to lead the supplier qualification and selection process and ensure support and success of NPD projects
- Develops, manages, and executes RFIs, RFPs and RFQs
- Leads cross-functional teams through the sourcing process
- Leads and manages the indirect contract review process for all internal departments
- Develops, implements, and enforces core contract management processes for request, execution, and archiving of Midmark’s indirect contracts
- Serves as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and suppliers with respect to indirect contract issues
- Administers contract renewals for Midmark’s indirect agreements
- Manages the archives of all executed indirect contracts
SECONDARY DUTIES:
- Works with internal stakeholders and legal counsel as necessary to review contract terms and conditions and advise stakeholders and suppliers to reach acceptable outcomes
- Identifies contract management process improvements that increase efficiency, compliance or reduce cost to the business
- Supports the Indirect Spend Manager in achievement of cultural and behavioral change towards the growth of a sustainable, best in class sourcing organization
- Maintains Indirect Toolbox (i.e., Spend Database, Market Reports, Contract Database, Resource Database)
- Collaborates with the Quality organization on Service Supplier programs within the Quality Management System
- Supports adherence of Finance policies and procedures
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, finance, or business required and 3-5 years of relative experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3-5 years’ experience in contract management, with a focus on contract generation, review and renewal processing preferred.

- Experience with contract management systems
- High level of legal acumen
- Excellent verbal and written skills specific to drafting sophisticated contract language to execute on strategies
- Must possess solid verbal and written communication skills
