Join Gilead and help create possible, together.<br/><br/><b>Job Description</b><br/> </p><p>We are seeking the Controller for the Czech and Slovakia affiliate <u><b>for maternity cover - 12 months fixed-term contract.</b></u> The Controller will primarily support the Finance Director, and more broadly work with various teams in Financial Shared Services. CZ / SK is a part of CEC cluster and the role works closely with other finance members in CEC.</p><p><br/><b>Essential Duties and Job Functions:</b></p><p><br/>- responsible for the timely and accurate review and posting of month-end close and accounting transaction, P&amp;L and Balance sheet account analysis, review and reconciliation and resolution – cooperating with GSS team and local external provider<br/>- responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of the selected journal entries for the month-end close and accounting transaction and selected disclosures<br/>- works with FSS to ensure robust country-level Accounting, Controllership, Tax, Treasury and Procurement including robust financial controls and management of risks, facilitated by strong collaborative relationships</p><p>-Coordinate Local GAAP Year End Closing (incl. local GAAP adjustments) with local external provider</p><p>-Coordinate VAT returns and filings in cooperation with local external provider</p><p>-support localization aspects (incl. testing) for SAP implementation based on global design<br/>- ability to work independently, interact successfully with non-financial personnel</p><p></p><p><b>Experience:</b><br/>• BA or BS degree in accounting or equivalent with a CPA, CA or similar accounting qualification<br/>• 8+ years of relevant experience<br/>• Tax, Treasury and Financial Accounting experience required<br/>• Experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry a plus<br/>• Experience in multi-national organization a plus<br/> </p><p><b>Knowledge/Skills:</b><br/>• Knowledge of Oracle / SAP or equivalent ERP system and proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, Word); knowledge of Blackline, OneSource, Tableau is an advantage<br/>• Requires in-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting policies and procedures<br/>• Proficient in all aspects of accounting and finance, including technical aspects (Local GAAP and US GAAP)<br/>• Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization with multiple functions, together with a positive attitude and strong work ethic<br/>• Possess an open, transparent and inclusive approach to working with colleagues<br/>• Ability to quickly establish credibility with diverse audiences and stakeholders<br/>• Demonstrated success working in a deadline proven and multi-task environment<br/>• Ability to take initiative, guide and influence others toward goal achievement</p><p><br/> </p><h2><span>Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)</span></h2><p>It is the policy of Gilead Sciences, Inc. a
