Job Title:     Warehouser

Department: Warehouse

Location:     Los Angeles, CA

Hourly range:  $20.98-22.00

PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION OF JOB

Moving and storing materials throughout the facility, loading and unloading trucks, trailers and railcars, and monitoring and maintaining inventory accuracy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follows safe work practices policies and procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), General Industry Safety Orders for forklift operators.
  • Maintains inventory accuracy.
  • Loads trucks for outbound shipment using proper procedures to prevent loss or damage to product.
  • Loads/ Unloads transfer from Noakes warehouse to DART warehouse.
  • Responsible for the organizing of the warehouse
  • Enters data into BPCS, Transition Works
  • Uses handheld scanners to manage inventory
  • Picks daily customer orders
  • Maintains department cleanliness to SQF (Safe Quality Food) & 5S standards.
  • Other responsibilities as required.
  • Operates lift truck (counterbalance sit down and stand up)
  • Carries out environmental compliance tasks, as appropriate to the position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSABILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibility

EDUCATION:

  • Forklift Operator’s license or documented training course certification
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in the operation of a forklift (experience in a manufacturing environment)
  • Must be proficient in the following tasks: Recognition of scheduled inbound shipments.
  • Able to use RF scanners.
  • Ability to read/write in English; capable of acting to written or verbal instruction
  • Basic understanding of math concept to complete reporting requirements
  • Must possess basic computer skills for use of systems: BPCS, TWI
  • Knowledge in Inventory control preferred
  • Basic knowledge of the BPCS or any related inventory management system preferred
  • Ability to operate powered material handling equipment (counterbalance sit down and stand up)
  • Knowledge of warehousing and warehouse procedures preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Lift up to 35 lbs. to shoulder height, lift up to 70 lbs. total.
  • Ability to climb onto and off of powered equipment (forklift)
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time (regularly 8 hours)
  • Bend and stoop frequently
  • Ability to Stand and walk up to 4 hours

ENVIRONMENT

  • Will spend 100% of time on manufacturing floor with moderate noise levels which will require the use of personal protective equipment including (but not limited to) hearing protection, safety glasses and steel toe shoes.
