What You’ll Be Doing:
Title: Senior Director, Strategic Finance
Location: Remote Position, Washington D.C. Metro Area Preferred
Evolent is looking for a Senior Director of Strategic Finance to lead in-depth financial analyses and play a key role in supporting the company’s long-term growth and financial performance. This leadership role requires a seasoned finance professional with a background in strategy and/or consulting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial modeling and excellent executive-level communication skills. This role reports into the VP of Enterprise Finance and will work directly with various execute leaders including our CFO, Deputy CFO, and others.
The primary responsibilities of the Senior Director include:
- Long-Term Financial Planning & Modeling:
- Develop and maintain a dynamic three-statement corporate model to forecast long-term business performance, financial health, and growth opportunities; this will include close collaboration with FP&A, Treasury, and Accounting.
- Partner with business leaders to ensure alignment of financial plans with corporate objectives via quarterly review meetings.
- Corporate Performance Management:
- Partner with senior leadership across business units to align financial goals with overall corporate strategy.
- Monitor key financial and operational metrics, analyze performance trends, and provide actionable insights for optimizing operational efficiency and profitability.
- Strategic Financial Analysis:
- Lead financial analysis and reporting for strategic initiatives, including mergers & acquisitions and investments.
- Provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making across the organization include areas like cost optimization, investment decisions, and product strategy.
- Executive Financial Reporting & Presentations:
- Prepare materials and presentations for Board meetings, executive leadership financial review meetings, and support financial analyses for earnings calls/investor presentations in partnership with the Investor Relations team.
- Present financial results, strategic initiatives, and corporate performance metrics to key stakeholders, ensuring clarity and strategic alignment.
In carrying out the above responsibilities, the Senior Director will:
- Manage multiple, competing priorities/deals/processes while flawlessly executing on driving deliverables throughout a project cycle.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge such that they can audit/review work of other team members and provide clear guidance on potential approaches to deal-related work including financial analyses and diligence.
- Drive work forward with a passion for organization, efficient and proactive communication, and process management.
- Actively seek out the input from stakeholders and consider the range of options before acting.
- Effectively form and manage strategically important relationships, both internal and external.
- Move easily between big picture thinking and managing relevant detail.
- Operate with outstanding analytical skills with the ability to develop insights and synthesize information.
- Leverage excellent verbal and written communication skills with significant experience working with executive leaders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- ~8 years of experience with finance, strategy, or management consulting roles with a focus on financial modeling, analysis, and strategic decision support.
- Excellent financial modeling skills including 3-statement financial models and scenario planning.
- Extensive experience in preparing and presenting financial data to senior executives and external stakeholders.
