Job Summary
The Vice President of Global Technology is responsible for guiding CLIA’s IT strategy and operations across all global offices. The Vice President of Global Technology will lead a diverse team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, agility, and continuous improvement. The incumbent will support CLIA’s global goals and strategic objectives to foster CLIA’s members’ success by advocating, educating, and promoting the common interests of the cruise community.
Essential Job Functions
- Ensure the standardization of IT systems and processes across all global offices, facilitating efficient operations, data consistency, and ease of management.
- Implements the strategic and tactical goals for the Digital and Information Technology Team.
- Oversee the development, maintenance, and optimization of the global IT infrastructure, including data centers, networks, cloud services, and telecommunications, to support business operations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse, high-performing IT team across multiple geographic locations, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Lead the selection, implementation, and integration of technical platforms across the global enterprise, ensuring they meet business requirements, enhance operational efficiency, and support seamless collaboration and data exchange between disparate systems.
- Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies and risk management programs to protect company data and IT assets from cyber threats.
- Lead global IT technical projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet business requirements.
- Act as a key technical liaison between the IT department and other business units, building strong relationships with senior leadership, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure IT alignment with business needs.
- Establish and maintain effective governance for IT controls, platforms, data, and business processes.
- Develop and maintain a robust business continuity and disaster recovery plan to ensure uninterrupted business operations under all conditions.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality IT services and support to users globally, adopting best practices such as ITIL for service management.
- Manage and optimize Association Management Systems (AMS) and integrations to ensure they effectively support the organization's membership, events, and other association-specific functions, driving enhancements and integrations that improve member engagement and operational efficiency.
- Proposes and manages budgets for all technology programs and projects.
- Implement ongoing training programs for the IT team and end-users, ensuring that staff are up to date with the latest technology skills and business processes.
- Lead organizational change initiatives related to IT, ensuring smooth transition processes and minimal disruption to business operations. This includes managing the human aspect of change regarding new systems and processes.
- Ensure all IT systems and processes meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, conducting regular audits and assessments to maintain high levels of quality and compliance.
- Lead the IT response to crises or significant technology-related incidents, coordinating efforts to minimize impact, resolve issues, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervises one (1) department position Network Administrator.
- Schedules, directs, and accepts responsibility for the work of all supervised employees in the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of computer systems, networks, security, telecommunications, databases and storage systems.
- Thorough understanding of risk management and information technology security including compliance with security standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Possess a solid understanding of data and analytics.
- Ability to explain highly technical concepts in simple terms.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 8 years of experience in IT operations.
- At least 4 years of experience overseeing IT projects.
