About the role

Role Description

The Head of Legal Operations will play a critical role in enabling communication, collaboration, and strategy execution to support the General Counsel, the Zoetis Legal Leadership Team (ZLLT team), and broader Legal organization. The Head of Legal operations will report to the General Counsel and act as a key member of the Zoetis Legal Leadership Team, facilitating operational excellence and coordination across the Legal function.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support General Counsel and ZLLT with planning, organizing, and executing ZLLT meetings, Legal Town Halls, and other operational activities. Take and distribute meeting minutes, track action items and follow-ups for ZLLT meetings.
  • Project manage global Legal projects as needed, e.g., partnering on systems and platforms implementations and other key projects. Collaborate with Chief Counsels to manage legal projects and obtain key goals for the year, track progress, escalate issues and facilitate regular updates to leadership team.
  • Work closely with the General Counsel’s Executive Assistant to organize discussion points, to-dos, and follow-ups for the General Counsel.
  • Partner with Legal stakeholders to manage the Legal Share Point site, identify new content, ensure content is updated as needed, ensure colleagues are aware of site.
  • Serve as Legal liaison for select cross-functional strategic initiatives and coordinate legal aspects and resources needed for these initiatives.
  • Support General Counsel in strategy execution by creating agendas, materials and logistics for executive and senior leader meetings, Board Meetings and strategic planning meetings. Participate in Zoetis Chief of Staff meetings.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • 10+ years' experience in an operationally or project management focused role
  • Proven track record of working closely with C-suite/VP-level management while also influencing across multiple levels and functions of an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to track, prioritize, and drive multiple projects successfully

  • Proven project management skills
  • Ability to build trust with executives and internal / external stakeholders of all levels.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to distill and convey information in a compelling manner.

  • Strong work ethic, disciplined execution skills, willingness to be flexible to help deliver results.
  • A good sounding board for others and ability to anticipate the needs of a busy executive and their direct staff.

Physical Requirements:

  • Hybrid working environment, with approximately 50% of time (2-3 work days per week) required on-site in Parsippany, NJ headquarters office.
  • Work with global teams located in multiple time zones.
