The Senior Staff Scientist is responsible for development and optimization of real time PCR and RT-PCR assay and assay control for host response project.  As a Senior Staff Scientist, selected candidate will have opportunity to lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Flexibility is important in adjusting to changes in work volume and focus.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Design and development of real time PCR and RT-PCR IVD assay, including design assay control(s) for assay performance evaluation and quality control.
• Maintaining detailed experimental records and present data at technical meetings.
• Leads others to solve complex problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions.
• Design and develop the unique PCR based IVD product and assay control(s).
• Bachelor’s degree in Molecular biology or related field with 8+ years of related work experience OR Master’s degree in Molecular biology or related field with 6+ years of related work experience OR Doctoral degree in Molecular biology or related field with 3+ years of related work experience

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to work in a laboratory environment wearing personal protective equipment including but not limited to lab coats, goggles, gloves, masks, etc. for extended periods.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Assay development experience on GeneXpert platform.
• Developing new assays and/or test methods/procedures.
• Knowledge of biomarker discovery, signature evaluation, and ability to apply a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions.

The salary range for this role is $133,000.00 to $205,000.00 USD Annual. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
