The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) is the state of Florida’s social services agency. The agency oversees services for child safety, fostering, adoption, domestic violence, adult protective services, refugees, homelessness, mental health, substance abuse, childcare providers, human trafficking and public assistance. The agency’s mission is to work in partnership with local communities to protect the vulnerable, promote strong and economically self-sufficient families, and advance personal and family recovery and resiliency.

Within DCF, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health (SAMH) Program office is recognized as the single state authority for substance abuse and mental health services. The Office of SAMH is statutorily responsible for the planning, evaluation, and implementation of a comprehensive statewide system of care for the prevention, treatment, and recovery of children and adults with serious mental illnesses or substance use disorders.

This is a highly responsible and professional position that will serve as the State Opioid Response Grant Report Analyst within the Programs unit. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who works seamlessly across all sections within the program office. This role requires the use of independent judgment, a proactive approach to responsibilities, and exceptional attention to detail. Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare quarterly, annual, continuation, performance, and closeout reports using information provided by project directors, program staff, fiscal teams, and data analysts.
  • Prepare concise summaries, briefing documents, and executive-level updates for agency leadership as requested.
  • Translate technical, operational, fiscal, and data-driven information into concise, organized, and reader-friendly narratives suitable for federal reporting.
  • Collaborate with project directors, subject matter experts, fiscal staff, and data teams to gather, clarify, and validate report content.
  • Develop written reports that align with federal reporting requirements, grant terms and conditions, performance measures, and approved project objectives.
  • Apply established templates, formatting standards, style guidelines, and document structures across all reports and briefing materials.
  • Review and revise reports for clarity, grammar, accuracy, consistency, and alignment with federal terminology and reporting expectations.
  • Collaborate with project directors, subject matter experts, fiscal staff, and data teams to gather, clarify, and validate report content.
  • Ensure written materials accurately reflect program activities, expenditures, outcomes, and supporting documentation in preparation for monitoring or audit review.
  • Track reporting schedules and assist in coordinating internal review and submission timelines.
  • Performing administrative tasks in support of the Project Director, including monitoring grant activities for effective management and compliance.
  • Maintaining grant records, files, reports, databases, and resource materials, including subcontractor documentation and work products.
  • Assisting with tracking and reviewing subcontractor deliverables, including preliminary review of submitted reports.
  • Supporting scheduling and coordination of regional meetings and contract monitoring site visits.
